Armada Fair Homemaker Competition Rules 1. A completed application form must be submitted to the fair office. A photograph will be required for submission to the State Fair, submit with application. 2. Positively no exhibit or work previously exhibited in the Armada Fair will be accepted for competition. 3. The winner of the Armada Fair Homemaker of the Year Award will be announced on Tuesday evening at Opening Ceremonies in the main arena. All who enter must be present. 4. You must have entries in Departments 30, 31, 33, 35, (parts 1 & 2) and, 36, 37 or 38, (SEE BELOW, RULES 1 a thru e). 5. You must be a ribbon winner in all (5) categories listed below. Entries in the professional classes are excluded. 6. Exhibitor must receive highest totaled point count for the present year to win award. In case of a tie, the person with the highest number of first place ribbons will be the winner.
RULES: 1. To enter the Homemaker Competition the exhibitor must have entered in the following Departments on their entry form: a. Dept. 30 - Home Economics - Food Preservation - 5 entries b. Dept. 31 - Home Economics - Food Preparation - 5 entries c. Dept. 33 - Floriculture - Arrangements - 2 entries d. Dept. 35 - Domestic Arts - (Parts 1 & 2) - 5 entries e. Dept. 36, 37, and 38 - Arts, Crafts and Hobbies - 5 entries, total between three (3) departments. 2. YOU MUST INDICATE ON YOUR ENTRY FORM THE ENTRIES YOU ARE ENTERING FOR HOMEMAKER COMPETITION. 3.. During the judging, the judges will have no idea of what exhibits you have chosen as your Homemaker exhibits. 4. After judging is completed, the Superintendent and the assistant will log your ribbon winnings for the exhibits you have indicated, and the point system will be added for your ribbons. 5. Point value used by committee for determining winner: 1st = 4 points 2nd = 3 points 3rd = 2 points 4th = 1 point Best of Show Ribbon = 5 points – Applies to the Best of Show Ribbon award won on any of the 22 entires identified for Homemaker Competition. |
