4H Silent Auction

Since 2006, in addition to the 4-H Livestock Sale, there is a Silent Auction for the 4-H exhibitors, which participate in the Armada Fair with their poultry and rabbit projects. As always, the Grand and Reserve Champions will be sold at the 4-H Livestock Sale.

1.) All turkeys, geese, chickens, ducks and rabbits (meat pens, fryers, roasters,) which received an “A” or “B” Grade will be allowed to participate in the Sale.

2.) The Silent Auction will take place on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

3.) Bidder registration will take place in Barn #15 (4-H Livestock Barn).  Your bidder number will work for both the Silent Auction and the normal 4-H Livestock Sale.

4.) Animals will stay in their respective barns. A clipboard with the poultry and rabbit’s information and 4-H member’s information will be in Barn #15 while the live auction is going on.  Minimum bid of $25 per cage of chicken and rabbit fryers and roasters and ducks.  Minimum bid of $50 for geese.  Turkeys will be sold individually, not in a pen, with a minimum bid of $25.  All bids increasing in five-dollar increments after initial bid.  Bidder is buying the entire cage except for turkeys (they will be sold individually).  Bidder will write his or her number and bid on the paper provided at each clipboard.  Remember to check your bid frequently as another bidder may have raised the offer to purchase.

5.) Buyers will be responsible for the animal processing cost, which will be added to the final sale price.

6.) Payment for purchases will be after 9:00 PM on day of the sale in Barn #15.

7.) Buyer will be responsible for picking up of the processed animals on August 22 at 6:00 PM at the Armada Fairgrounds.  If you are unable to be at the fairgrounds on August 22nd, please make your own arrangements by contacting: Brown’s Processing, 11050 27 Mile Rd, Washington, MI 48094 (586) 781-4508 or (586) 784-3150

8.) Only poultry and rabbits that were sold at the Live Auction or the Silent Auction will be loaded on the trailer for processing.

9.) Participation in the Silent Auction is optional.

10.) The Silent Auction is a Terminal Sale.

Macomb County 4-H Livestock Sale Committee’s Commission will apply to the sale and will be withheld from all sales.  If further information is required, please contact a member of the Macomb County Livestock Sale Committee or visit http://macombcountymi.gov/msuextension/livestock.html.
